Why?
I’ve been blogging for more than three years. You could say I still haven’t found my style and in some ways that would be true. Over on my main blog I noticed that I was basically mixing two styles. One style is the standard personal blog with a fair amount of what I’m up to, family news and my rants and raves.
Occasionally though I concentrate on more technical and social aspects that concern me both professionally - I’m an IT professional - extra-professionally - I spend a lot of time on my computer outside of work and personally.
I thought it might be a good idea to start a separate blog for these sorts of reflexions and not to mix them up. That way either readers won’t get confused or wonder what I want to do.
Lately - as a fiftysomething web worker - I’ve been having a hard time with social apps on the web. Users over on Facebook are uneasy mixing pleasure and business and are uncomfortable with thirtysomethings invading ‘their’ space.
I wondered where that left me and that is one of the subjects I will be addressing in the future.
The usal blurb is that I was born in the UK of Swiss and English parents and have been living in the French speaking part of Switzerland for almost thirty years. I have a wonderful wife and three great kids. I work in the local government IT department.
